The installation of a new and customized network is a process typically following several key phases. These phases ensure that the network meets your current and future communication, security, and performance needs. Here's a step-by-step breakdown.
Typically, we will meet with the business to discuss goals, size or capacity of the network, operations, number of devices connecting to the network, and future growth of the company. During this consult we will try to identify the specific network infrastructure needs of your business.
Next, a physical inspection of the sight is necessary for most jobs in order to properly plan for the job. During the inspection we try to understand our undertaking and to identify potential challenges (e.g., thick walls blocking Wi-Fi, interference, cabling paths).
Finally, blueprints are drawn, and are made available to clients upon request.
We source necessary hardware, ensuring compatibility with the business's IT systems and budget. The type of hardware installed will vary based on the needs of the company. The following is typical for a business without an existing network:
Additionally, we would purchase to install:
The network installation begins with cabling. Structured cabling is run throughout the site. All the cables are labeled for maintenance and troubleshooting. Each cable terminates at the patch panel and the new network jack. Wire pathways may need to be created when barriers exist or extra protection is needed to protect the cables (decided during the planning phase).
Next, all hardware will be setup. The patch panel will be mounted to rack in the server room and the network devices connected and configured.
The last step in this phase is testing and validation. We test all structured cabling and verify equipment connectivity.
